Appointment Information
Doctors at Ballarat Group Practice operate independently and appointment times and schedules will vary between doctors.
We have a number of appointments available each day for emergencies. This enables sick patients and urgent problems to be addressed on the day. Bulk billing does not apply to these appointments.
Our Doctors aim to run on time, so your punctual attendance will assist this.
There are times however, when your doctor may be behind schedule. Our reception staff will endeavour to inform you of the wait time when you arrive for your appointment. You are also welcome to ring us prior to your appointment time to see if your doctor is running on time.
To ensure quality of care, our doctors prefer to see you for a consultation rather than liaise via telephone or email.
Standard clinic appointments are of 10-15 minutes duration however we recommend you make a longer appointment if you:
- wish to discuss several issues during the one appointment
- require a full check up
- wish to discuss women’s health issues including having a Cervical screening Test (PAP smear)
- require the theatre or nursing staff
- will be having a Care Plan created
- need a corporate or insurance medical
- require immunisations or travel injections
After Hours Care is available outside of these times, while home and aged care visits can be arranged with your individual doctor.
If you have an urgent medical problem, please inform our reception staff who will advise you accordingly.
