Telehealth Updates from 1st October 2020

Due to Medicare changes as of the 1st October 2020, billing practices will return to pre-COVID processes.

Over the past 6 months some privately billed patients have been bulk-billed. These changes mean that while it is still up to the doctors how they bill, private patients will be required to pay the full private fee on the day of the consultation, whether it be teleheath or face to face.

For telehealth consultations, payment can be made over the phone via EFTPOS and credit card. Your Medicare rebate will be sent online and payment made into your nominated bank account that you have provided to Medicare.
